Note to self: Don’t ever make a bet where the loser has to get a tattoo or this will happen: That’s an image of Christian quarterback Tim Tebow, football in one hand, cross in the other. Juan Contreras explained to ESPN how he got the tattoo: Contreras and his friend Gabe Lopez, who owns Love N Hate Elite Tattoo Studio in Denver, took great delight earlier this season in teasing fellow Broncos fan Josh Lucero about being a Tebow supporter…. A few days ago, I wrote about how the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) group at the University of Buffalo was suspended after forcing their treasurer to resign because he was gay. (They said the homosexuality had nothing to do with it; rather, the issue was that the student no longer believed the Bible was 100% true.) The school had a non-discrimination policy when it came to campus groups and IVCF had violated that policy; hence, the suspension. Now, the same… Read more
…Michael Moore! (Yep. That one.) He gave us $1,000 the other day at the request of one of his Twitter followers! *Happy dance* What’s that, you say? You’re not a fan? He’s too left-leaning for you? You agree with him in principle, but you think he selectively edits his movies in an unfair way? Fine. Whatever. Then show him up by donating $1,001! We’ll call it the “I can raise More than Moore” campaign 🙂 I *dare* you to top… Read more
JT Eberhard has been working on a campaign for the Secular Student Alliance to help young atheists (and their allies). It’s called the “Secular Safe Zone”: Originally designed for high schools, the program will include online training sessions every month for teachers and other educators who wish to participate. Upon completion of training, these administrators will be sent Safe Zone materials such as posters or banners to hang in their classroom, announcing them as an ally to atheistic students. The… Read more

That temptation is hard to resist… In Texas, a church is being investigated for violating Texas’ election laws and possibly the federal tax code. The Texas law reads: A corporation or labor organization may not make a political contribution or political expenditure in connection with a recall election, including the circulation and… Read more
Premier Dalton McGuinty just announced that under new anti-bullying legistlation, students will be able to set up gay-straight alliance clubs (though the name may be different) in ALL public schools in Ontario. “We’re going to require that, at every school where students request that this be put in place, they be permitted to organize themselves with a gay-straight alliance.” It will come as no shock that various religious groups are unhappy about this. Charles McVety, of the Institute for Canadian… Read more
By now, you’ve probably seen Rick Perry’s new campaign video: I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school. As President, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion. And I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage. Faith made America strong. It… Read more
