Christian author Rachel Held Evans is writing a book and she casually mentions the word “vagina” in it. Her editors told her to remove it because the Christian bookstores wouldn’t sell it otherwise — even though male Christian authors could say “penis” in their books without a problem. It took a blog post + tons of reader reaction to get the editors to change their mind. Last month, LifeWay Christian Bookstores removed the movie The Blind Side from their shelves… Read more
Remember that scary news story about South Korea removing two examples of evolution from their high school textbooks? The changes were being proposed by the Society for Textbook Revision, an offshoot of the Korean Association for Creation Research. It’s no secret that Creationism and the theory of Intelligent Design are popular all over the world. However, in South Korea, these ideas have been pushed more publicly than in other countries. According to Time magazine, the KACR sponsored an incredibly popular… Read more
A woman in Selmen, Tennessee was arrested for assaulting her pastor. She’s 63. She did it because she thought he had “the demon in him.” Just watch the video: Last year, Mount Zion Baptist Church got a new pastor. Not everyone was happy with the selection. Evidently, this caused some sort of rift within the small 30-person church. So member Ina Garrett hit the pastor in the head with her Bible. (To knock the demon out of him, obviously.) Pastor… Read more
The Smithsonian Institution uses the brochure to advertise its IMAX Theaters: There’s only one problem with that. We’ve seen that dinosaur somewhere before… … at the Creation Museum. And Ken Ham is calling them out on it: I’m sure the Smithsonian will be horrified when they find out where this photo was taken. (We just alerted officials there about its copyright violation.) Now, AiG/Creation Museum does own the copyright on this dinosaur of ours, and the Smithsonian or its ad… Read more
Radio host Bryan Fischer received a very interesting email yesterday from an anonymous listener who had, in Fischer’s own words, “a brilliant, brilliant idea.” Observe: We talk frequently on this program about how people who have an active, vibrant spiritual life are healthier. They live longer, they are healthier, and they are happier. Their physical health is better. We have read numerous stories where even medical professionals attest to the power of prayer in quickening healing for people.* *Citation needed So… Read more

Mike Huckabee recently interviewed William J. Murray, the author of My Life Without God. Murray is the son of Madalyn Murray O’Hair, whose Supreme Court case took mandatory prayer out of public school and led to her being called “The Most Hated Woman in America.” Even though his mother was hard-core about her atheism (and perhaps because of that), Murray ended up becoming a Christian. Really Christian. Like World Net Daily Christian. A lot of the interview will make you… Read more
The election in November between President Obama and Mitt Romney could have important consequences for the peace process. I believe that the uncertainty over who will win the election could and perhaps should convince the Palestinians that it would be in their own best interest to restart the peace process as soon as possible. Those are the words of World Jewish Congress president Ronald Lauder. This thinly veiled threat comes ahead of Mitt Romney’s planned visit to Israel to meet with… Read more
The Omaha Coalition of Reason in Nebraska just put up this billboard to promote the Midwest Freethought Conference taking place in early August: You know, there’s probably a point where these billboards will become ineffective… but it clearly hasn’t happened yet. So kudos to OmahaCoR for putting this sign up. They get coverage in every city they go up in. So kudos to OmahaCoR for putting this sign up! Read more
