Nullifidian must have a direct line to the Atheist God because he has the most recent edition of The Atheist Bible (PDF). With a cover like this, how can you not like it? It’s short (10 pages) and to the point (3 Populations evolve). I like this excerpt: 2 Don’t be a dick, 3 try to have a good time, 4 and try not to die. I was waiting for someone to wrongly contact me about the Snapple case (Someone with the same name as me filed an idiotic lawsuit against them). And it hadn’t happened… until today. Here’s the letter I received this morning from a French reporter: Dear Sir, I am contacting you today in regards to a possible law suit I believe has been filed by yourself against Cadbury Schweppes Plc for claims over mislabelling products like Snapple juice as ”all natural”. I… Read more
A voicemail came in over the weekend to the Secular Student Alliance (an organization I chair). It was a sweet gesture. A loving one, really. I mean, the man says “God bless you” toward the end… Have a listen (wav). Here’s what bothers me. How on Earth can this guy butcher my name that badly?! There’s no “R” in my first name. Both my first and last names are phonetically pronounced (Heh’-mint Meh’-tuh). I understand slight variations. I even get… Read more
A five-year-old kid’s name is Max Hell. His dad’s name is Alex Hell. The surname has an Austrian origin. Alex says the name means “bright.” Now, the Hells are feeling the heat. According to Yahoo! News, Max was “barred from enrolling in a Catholic school in Australia because his surname jarred with its religious teachings…” That’s it. Max could be a perfect angel, but his last name is Hell, so no deal. The school eventually came to their senses and… Read more

A billboard in New York’s Times Square is raising a lot of eyebrows and drawing ire from a local church. The billboard in question can be seen here. A better *ahem* glimpse can be seen here. According to Rev. Neil Rhodes, pastor of the interdenominational Times Square Church: “You walk into a church building, you have naked bodies before your eyes, how are you going to close your eyes and seek God?” The Associated Press says the ad “is to… Read more
Some of you saw the following picture and inquired about where it came from: It’s not from an actual coloring book. It’s a piece of art by the fantastic Derek Chatwood. You can see more of his work on Flickr. Some of my other favorites: Jesus on a Dinosaur, part 2! Jesus and Charles Darwin can’t get along… And, oh, those poor misguided homosexuals: Homosexuality that involves clergy? That would never happen… He’s good, isn’t he?
