In case you missed it, the Freedom From Religion Foundation placed this full-page ad (read: $$$) appeared in today’s New York Times to mark the Winter Solstice: The question is whether the donations and publicity resulting from the ad will make up for its cost. Knowing the FFRF, they wouldn’t do something like this unless it did. … Bill Donohue (a.k.a. The Catholic League) responds by calling FFRF “Parasites of Christmas”: There is a silly full-page ad in today’s New… Read more
Free dating website OKCupid is celebrating its “12 Days of Atheist Matches” (I’m sure they do the same for non-atheists, too) and this is the email one friend received 🙂 Gotta love a company that has a sense of humor about this stuff. (Thanks to Jackie for the image!) Read more

He devised an unusual plan to make the donation. Typically books at our auction go for no more than $10. Bill and I engaged in a fake bidding war for Richard Dawkins’ book, The… Read more

Not to rehash that whole controversy again, but here’s a story worth sharing, courtesy of blogger vnectar: I said [to my husband,] “Hey honey, I did a good deed today! I convinced K. not to donate money to the American Cancer Society!”. Then I started laughing because I realized that I would sound like a monster to anyone not aware of the drama surrounding the ACS and an atheist organization who wants to donate an assload of money to them,… Read more
