Today is the Christian “Day of Dialogue” in which participants can tell their LGBT classmates why they’re going to hell. This is the card (PDF) they will be handing out: As I posted before, Zach Moore created this hilarious parody (PDF) of that card: So cut those out and spread the word! If you have any interesting encounters today, I’d love to hear about them… And, by the way, if you click on DayOfMonologue.com, it redirects to this site 🙂 Read more
You know all those leftist secularist activists who preach messages of love and equality and inclusion? Matt Barber of the group Liberty Counsel believes the victimized Christians ought to punch them in the mouth. (Metaphorically, of course. Just metaphorically…) They’re bullies. And we know that we people stand up to the bully on the playground — the bully on the playground intimidates, that’s what he does, intimidates people into silence, into fear, into avoiding the bully. And oftentimes the bully… Read more

The event will be put on by the new ChicagoLand Freethinkers group and co-sponsored by American Atheists with help from the National Atheist Party. All the information is here and here. On Friday, April 6th, Brad Seng spoke to the students at Southern Hills Middle School in Boulder, Colorado about sex education. … and you can already tell where this story is going: [Laura Binegar’s] daughter described an activity where students spit food into water glasses, then were asked if they would rather drink from a clean glass or a dirty one. … The water glass activity, [Seng] said, is a way to engage students. He said students drink the water… Read more
When reporters from a company started by Glenn Beck say they want to interview you about your atheist activism, the logical response would be to laugh in their faces and run away, avoiding all the cameras inevitably pointed in your direction. But philanthropist Todd Stiefel — whose contributions allowed both the Reason Rally and Rock Beyond Belief to take place — spoke with Billy Hallowell of The Blaze. To my surprise, it’s a pretty positive profile of the guy…: Stiefel,… Read more
The Center For Inquiry has this fantastic conference about Women in Secularism coming up next month in Arlington, Virginia. (The audience will hopefully include men, too.) Given the unique nature of this conference, I was worried that the registration cost ($219 for non-CFI members) might deter a lot of people from attending. But there’s now a plan in place to help with that. If you’re a college student and you’d like to attend, CFI just announced they’ll be offering $25… Read more
The Air Force Services Agency (AFSA), which, among other things, manages hotels on Air Force bases, has removed a requirement to place Bibles in hotels. Now, it’s up to the managers to decide which religion, if any, they wish to promote. The Military Association of Atheists & Freethinkers (my main job, see bio), reported the following: Air Force to remove requirement for hotel Bibles In early February, a cockpit atheist in Kadena Airbase in Japan contacted MAAF to ask why… Read more
