Greta Christina tells us all about how to keep the passion alive in a relationship: Christian Spanking Porn. The website that seems to be spearheading this is Christian Domestic Discipline (CDD). What is CDD? An arrangement between a Christian married couple that involves the husband having authority in the household and enforcing that authority through spanking or other means of punishment. You can even buy products, such as the “crotchless pantaloons”: And if you prefer reading your Christian porn, you… Read more
I wrote about eHarmony last week and how one reporter suspected the site found no matches for him because he was not religious. I filled out the personality profile myself after posting that to see if any matches came up for me. And a few did show up, but none that interested me (and strangely, most of them were religious despite my insistence otherwise when I filled out the form). Anyway, I still get emails from eHarmony telling me about… Read more
The Wall Street Journal ran a piece on Christopher Hitchens’ book God is Not Great. In it, they revealed this little tidbit: Today, seven weeks after the book went on sale, there are 296,000 copies in print. Demand has been so strong that booksellers and wholesalers were unable to get copies a short time after it hit stores, creating what the publishing industry calls a “dark week.” One experienced publishing veteran suggests that Mr. Hitchens will likely earn more than… Read more
RichardDawkins.net now has a social network similar to MySpace and Facebook. It still has some kinks, but if enough people sign up, it could hit a critical mass and become useful. My profile’s up (be my friend!), nicely copied and pasted from my Facebook page. I tried searching for people who lived near me. But apparently, none of the 2416 people currently signed up live within 100 miles of Chicago. Either that, or the search option needs to be fixed…. Read more
Back when the new George Washington dollar coins were minted, there was a slight problem (or not, given your perspective): “In God We Trust” was not inscribed on approximately 50,000 of them. So the US Mint said they’d fix the problem. And like many of our government agencies, they were just kidding about that. Hundreds of the new John Adams dollar coins are also missing the inscription. The exact number of Godless coins is unknown. But that’s not the only… Read more
Stan Nelson, a columnist for the Pueblo Chieftain Online, wrote an article about atheism a couple weeks ago and said this: The truth is that atheism and religion stand on the same, blood-soaked level, one as culpable as the other. But the reason for that is atheism and religion are not strict opposites. Atheism is not the opposite of religion, but of faith, specifically in God or, for that matter, any god or gods. Religion is the demonstration of faith,… Read more

Remember the God billboards…? Here’s one example: Victory Family Church in Decatur, Texas is now marketing services with Satan billboards: The Star-Telegram newspaper adds this: Associate pastor Chris Bates said the Web site has had more than 1,100 hits since the billboard went up. “That’s huge for a small church like us,” he said. Other churches are also using Satan in their ad campaigns, including CedarCreek Church in Ohio, which says, “CedarCreek Church Sucks — Satan.” Bates said his church… Read more
