In Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, atheist John Wolff went to the website for the local Prudhomme’s Lost Cajun Kitchen and was surprised to see a special discount on Sunday that seemed to specifically exclude him: Prudhomme said she began offering the discount a little more than a year ago. She said she has offered all kinds of discounts or incentives at various times, including some to senior citizens, early-bird diners, children under 12, people who shop at certain other Columbia businesses… Read more
For over 40 years, this was the promise recited by members of the Australian Girl Guides (kinda like American Girl Scouts): But as of this past week, that pledge will be changing to the following: Notice the difference? 🙂 The refreshed Girl Guides’ promise will see its 28,000-strong group promise to do their best “to be true to myself and develop my beliefs” rather than to “do my duty to God, to serve the Queen and my country”. National director… Read more
After Anderson Cooper told the world he was gay last week, Pastor Craig Gross wrote an article for CNN offering a response to what Cooper did. Here’s what Gross intended to say (in my mind): A lot of Christians say homosexuality is a sin, but they ignore all the other sins in the Bible. You would never see a gay pastor in an evangelical church… but you see fat ones all the time! Christians just ignore the whole “gluttony is… Read more

It’s hard enough to watch MSNBC’s The Cycle because I just can’t bring myself to watch one of the co-hosts, S.E. First, here’s just a sampling of her rant: “I envy religious people… I envy the faithful. I would like to be a person of faith, but I’m not there yet…”… Read more
The Creation Museum had big plans to build Ark Encounter, a theme park for Creationists… … but it looks like they’ve hit a snag with funding. That’s not the only bad news for them, either: The group initially announced that it expected to break ground on the park in 2011, before eventually pushing that date back to 2014. But in June, in an interview in the Creation Museum’s “Noah’s Cafe,” Ark Encounter vice president Michael Zovath told Yahoo News that… Read more
In Louisiana, Republican Governor Bobby Jindal pushed for a voucher program that would allow state funds to be used to pay for religious schools. It’s unconstitutional, it’s a way to use taxpayer money to fund someone’s faith, and it was a bad idea to begin with. But it passed. Now, one of the state legislators, Rep. Valarie Hodges (R-Watson), just made a shocking discovery, though: Christianity isn’t the only religion! Rep. Valarie Hodges, R-Watson, says she had no idea that… Read more
