The Green Party didn’t just play spoiler in 2000 by handing Florida (and, therefore, the presidency) to George W. Bush. Ralph Nader was actively supportive of that idea. Earlier this week, Dr. Jill Stein was asked during a CNN Town Hall meeting about her religious beliefs. In June, Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson was asked the same question. There are times when religion may influence a President’s public policy decisions, but when there’s no reason to think that’s going to happen, what are we gaining from this information? If anything, it only feeds into anti-atheist prejudice. Read more
