MAGA Cultist Who Said He’d Shoot Anyone Trying to Vaccinate Him Now Has COVID

Right-wing broadcaster Josh Bernstein, who once called for the execution of a congresswoman and more recently threatened “grave consequences” if Democrats passed a voting rights bill, can finally be added to the list of conservatives who demonized the COVID vaccine only to end up with COVID themselves.

(If only there was a way to prevent this sort of thing from happening…)

“Demonize” is actually putting it nicely. Earlier this year, Bernstein said he would literally “shoot” anyone who tried to vaccinate him. No one tried. And wouldn’t you know it, Bernstein is now sick with… something.

This thing is brutal. It’s not the flu. It’s not. You know, with the flu it’s, like, okay, you’re sick, you have a headache, you’re sneezing, cold, stuffy, achy, this, that, right? You get some amoxicillin, and 3 or 4 or 5 days later, you’re good to go, right?

Nah, this isn’t like that. I literally have zero flu-like symptoms. I’m not coughing. I’m not sneezing. I don’t have a headache. I don’t have fever. I don’t have chills. I don’t have anything.

The only thing I have is an absolutely unbearable lethargic, tired feeling, and it’s very, very odd. But, you know, it’s one of those things where I just gotta rest. You know, I’m not in my normal studio, I’m in my bedroom, believe it or not. I turned it into a little studio to do this. And so we can call it, I guess, the COVID quarantine cave.

Insert all the standard caveats about how we don’t wish this virus on anyone, and how we hope Bernstein recovers soon, because we don’t share his violent beliefs about our ideological opponents. That being said, his story is yet another cautionary tale of what can happen when you refuse the vaccine.

If Bernstein were a better person, he’d use this opportunity and his platform to urge his followers to get vaccinated so they can avoid his fate. But he’s not that kind of person. He’s not interested in informing his followers; he’s interested in feeding them lies.

On a side note, why would anyone use amoxicillin, an antibiotic, to treat the flu? Don’t do it. That’s not how you handle flus.
