A few people formed the “National Atheist Party” back in March and several state chapters have since formed… all on Facebook: The National Atheist Party is a diverse, all inclusive, progressive, secular political movement and a response to the lack of representation for all free thinking people who are legal, law abiding citizens of the United States. We demand emancipation from the religious dogma that has infiltrated our government and has unfairly influenced political decisions and policy making. We are… Read more
There seem to be a lot of film festivals geared toward non-believers lately and that’s a wonderful thing — more of a chance to meet other atheists while enjoying new and old films filled with blasphemy, heresy, and hilarity. The annual Atheist Film Festival takes place on Sunday, August 21st at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco. “Too often mainstream films have embraced a generic, watered-down spirituality and magical thinking,” says David Fitzgerald, director of the Atheist Film Festival. “What’s… Read more

Reader Sheila’s “NO SOLICITATION” sign wasn’t preventing the unwanted religious visitors from stopping by her house, so she now has this message on her door: Think it’ll work? 🙂 Read more
There’s a special street sign going up in New York City to honor a group of firefighters who sacrificed their lives to save others on 9/11. Not only were they heroes, they were among the first firefighters to arrive on the scene that morning. There were seven of them and, after they died, they were collectively known as “Seven in Heaven.” And that’s how city officials are memorializing them: So it raises a really difficult question for some atheists: Is… Read more
ChristWire finally revealed the truth about me yesterday. Turns out I’m a Smiling Mexigay: Poor humor, however, is not the most troublesome aspect of this website. Neither is the horrid design, with illegible Satanic markings next to a picture of a smiling Mexigay. … … In its entirety, the “Friendly Atheist” blog represents a sustained propaganda machine designed to spread the Chinese homo lie that atheists can be friendly. Friendship is a gift from the Lord and without the Lord… Read more

Now, the Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley, a secular agency, is stepping in to help out the children that the Catholic charities don’t seem to care about. They’re taking in 330 children left behind by the Catholic Charities in Rockford. It’s run by a religious person who thinks very highly… Read more
Singer Anthony David was listening to Pat Robertson explain how the “earthquake in Haiti was because of a curse from God” and that compelled him to write a song called “God Said.” I’m not one of those who claims that religion is the ONLY thing that causes all of the wars and bloodshed, but it has caused many. But not necessarily even the religion but the interpretetation of a few dangerous minds put into the wrong position of power or… Read more
I know you’re sick of this by now, but I need to get my own thoughts cleared up and it helps me to write them down. So there you go. I had said before Elevator Guy was a creep. I’m now convinced that was a poor choice of words because that gets him off easy. He put Rebecca Watson in the uncomfortable position where, if she said no to his advances, there’s a chance he could’ve acted in a scary/I-Don’t-Wanna-Think-About-It… Read more
