Right-Wing Conspiracy Theorist: “Asymptomatic” Means You Don’t Have the Virus!

It’s always amusing when science-deniers prove to the world they don’t actually understand science. During a pandemic, it’s like Creationism… but with deadlier consequences.

Like when right-wing activist and conspiracy theorist DeAnna Lorraine says we shouldn’t worry about people who are asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19 because it means they don’t have the virus. Even though they literally have the virus and can spread it to other people they come into contact with.

By the way, asymptomatic carrier is really just code name for “You don’t have it.” You don’t freakin’ have it, okay? It’s not showing up in your system. It doesn’t show up in a test. You don’t have the coronavirus!

But asymptomatic carrier is a way for them to say they want to just test everybody and then track and surveil everyone! They just said it! You don’t need it to be any more blatantly obvious.

This is not, like, you know, a conspiracy theory. This is not even speculation anymore. This is — they’re plainly saying what they’re gonna do is contact and trace everybody. And this is a huge violation of our privacy. This is unconstitutional. And guess what? Just as I thought: The bill is called HR 6666! Which, again, symbolism is everything to these creepy, sick people.

Nothing screams “conspiracy theory” like a conspiracy theorist saying “This is not, like, you know, a conspiracy theory” before blaming others for finding hidden meanings in (coincidental) symbols.

Needless to say, the reason the virus is spreading so rapidly is because so many people are asymptomatic. They have the virus and don’t know it, and then they unwittingly take risks that spread the virus to people who can’t handle it. If they knew they had the virus — because the symptoms were showing — they would be more likely to self-quarantine.

By the way, Lorraine is hardly a fringe figure here. She ran for Congress earlier this year — in an attempt to unseat Speaker Nancy Pelosi — but lost her primary.

Someone who doesn’t understand the basics of a deadly pandemic had the unearned self-confidence to think she belongs in Congress. Meanwhile, people who know far better, and have the wisdom to do research about what they don’t understand, remain on the sidelines.
