E.W. Jackson: Atheists Reject a God They Can’t See, So Why Do They Fear a Virus?

During a Facebook livestream on Sunday, right-wing radio host and former candidate for Lt. Governor of Virginia E.W. Jackson mocked atheists for rejecting God because they can’t see Him… while believing in a virus they also can’t see.

Think about the irony of this. Think about the irony of this! I’ve had people say things like this to me… Usually in comments after I put out some livestream event or something like that, here’s what they’ll say: “You know, you got fools who believe that some imaginary man in the sky, that they can’t see, is gonna protect them!”

And yet, they’ll crawl off into a corner cringing over a virus that they can’t see.

Now, think about the irony of that. You can’t see it! AHHH! They’re cringing in fear. AHHH! But you tell them about God and [noises]. And they don’t know that they need to be a lot more afraid of God than they are of this virus.

I can’t believe this needs to be said, but even if viruses are small, they can be seen. Just get a strong enough microscope.

Even if you don’t have access to one, we can literally feel the effects of the virus in a tangible, measurable way. Unlike religious believers who claim God changes them, the virus does the same things to different people in predictable patterns. That’s why we all know the symptoms and can work on vaccines to combat them.

Somehow, none of this occurred to Jackson, who thinks being a Christian grants you automatic immunity against the virus.
