Jim Bakker: My Venereal Disease Gel Was Practically Created by God in Heaven

Televangelist Jim Bakker has long claimed his “Silver Solution” can get rid of “all venereal diseases.”

Even coronavirus (in under 12 hours, no less). Even SARS and HIV.

Yesterday he was right back at it, claiming his silver was “almost like a miracle” and that “God created it in Heaven.”

… It’s almost like a miracle. It’s like God created it in Heaven to help us… It’s so amazing for what it does, I mean, I hate to say things like this, but it kills every venereal disease that there is. Now that’s pretty powerful!

All of this is a lie. None of this has been proven. Use the snake oil at your own peril. (Bakker and his crew are right-wing Christians. They don’t care about lying.)

It’s also worth asking how and why so many of his (older Christian) viewers are struggling with venereal diseases…

As we’ve said before, this product won’t cure anything, but there are serious side effects. On his website, there’s a link specifically for California residents — a Proposition 65 Warning — that says “This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.”

How long will Bakker be able to promote harmful snake oil on his show before he hurts someone?
