You would think The Lord Almighty would be a little busy, but with the release of his new book, The Last Testament: A Memoir — written with the help of former Executive Producer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart David Javerbaum — he’s doing something of a publicity tour. Wouldn’t you know it, he was all too eager to talk with an atheist… Our interview is below: Does your writing this memoir singlehandedly destroy the arguments for atheism? (Or… Read more
***Edit***: The is a repost from earlier in the week, but with a working image! … The Student Voice, a “bi-weekly student-run magazine at Syracuse University,” has a great cover for their latest issue: As I write this, the actual article isn’t available online, but I hope it will be soon… (via @SecularStudents) Read more
Ethan Brown is only 12, but his ability to do tricks using mental math is incredible. At last week’s Skepticamp in New Hampshire, Ethan created a 4 x 4 magic square after audience members filled in some of the boxes for him at random. And he even found a way to get the columns and rows to add up to an appropriate number for that particular audience 🙂 When I watched that, I was thinking he’s like a younger Art… Read more

Unfortunately, the trend is becoming more popular… … but it just looks to me like they’re facepalming. (Or maybe that’s just what I’m doing in response.) Seems appropriate. Read more
Can God create a math problem so hard that even He can’t solve it? Let’s find out. … And I love this equation the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s Dan Barker sent to Jerry Coyne (almost as an afterthought) in an email about religious accommodation and why science and religion are not compatible: Here’s an equation: Religion + Good Works = Good Works Solve for Religion. Subtract Good Works… carry the one… Ahhhhhhhh. I see what he did there 🙂 Read more
Thunderf00t and the religiousantagonist are collaborating again! The premise: Jesus visits a Christian book store and he wants a job! But didn’t the Bible say something about not turning the Father’s house into a marketplace…? I’m surprised the bookstore was his first choice. You would think an out-of-work Jesus would try to get a job as a pastor… Read more
