Mark Turner was born and raised as a Catholic in the North East of England, UK. He attended two Catholic schools between the ages of five and sixteen. A product of a moderate Catholic upbringing and an early passion for science first resulted in religious apathy and by mid-teens outright disbelief.

I’m admittedly a bit biased when I say this, but I genuinely think that one of the greatest exports from the UK is the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), a.k.a. The Beeb. The BBC is the largest broadcaster in the world, employing a staff of 23,000 across all of its various divisions. In its early years it formed the blueprint for other public broadcasters around the world. Now, one of its longest running institutions, Radio 4, has been caught up in a… Read more
As we all know, Muslims everywhere are on a mission to take over the entire world. They are relentless, merciless, and show a total disregard for the rights of Christians to make openly racists remarks at their expense. It seems the latest battle lines have been drawn in Tennessee — soon to be (cue sarcasm) the next caliphate to fall into the hands of the evil Muslim imperialists. At least if Lee Douglas is to be believed, it is. And… Read more

I am, of course, drawing attention to the ejection of two attendees from the Republican National Convention for throwing nuts at a black CNN camerawoman. According to witnesses, the individuals told her “this is how we feed animals” as they threw the nuts. Needless to say this kind of disgraceful behavior was quickly condemned by the convention organizers and rightly so. After ejecting the pair, organizers said: Their conduct… Read more
Bill Maher makes a throwaway comment during the opening sequences of his “CrazyStupidPolitics” show that suddenly seems very apt. Maher is describing watching from the sidelines as the Republicans go through the process of searching for new leaders over the last few years. He describes the process as illuminating, resulting in the revelation: “There is no bottom, I thought Dan Quayle was the bottom 20 years ago.” I’m sure Maher will do a far greater job than I of tearing into the man trying to make… Read more
I’d just like to start this post by saying this is actually my third attempt at it. Mainly because every time I finish it, Mitt Romney has either uttered more stupid remarks, or someone has rebuked him. Thankfully it looks like good old Boris Johnson has finally put him in his place, so it’s probably safe to finish. … Mitt Romney had only been in my beloved country a matter of hours, but that was all the time he and his… Read more
