Cartoonist Brandon Blomquist has been going through the Bible in an unusual way: He’s actually reading it from the beginning, warts and all, without skipping over the weird parts. And along the way, he’s summarizing the passages as if working on a graphic novel.
Blomquist just released his version of Exodus, the second book of the Bible, and you can get a glimpse of it below:
If you’ve enjoyed my YouTube series going through each book of the Bible, no doubt you’ll enjoy these books as well. His version of Genesis is already out. Leviticus is next!
I appreciate that citations are provided with each panel and Blomquist doesn’t go out of his way to make things funnier or more extreme. (The text he’s working with offers plenty of that on its own.) While it’s not a substitute for the text itself, and doesn’t pretend to be, you can’t argue it’s unfair to the source material.
