I’ve always enjoyed seeing the latest projects released by Bailey Harris. The 15-year-old author and science communicator has written a book (with her dad’s help) called My Name Is Stardust, about how all living things are made up of the same basic ingredients. She’s followed that up with Stardust Explores the Solar System and Stardust Explores Earth’s Wonders: Geology & Evolution. Bailey’s enthusiasm for science is infectious and the books are just perfect for little kids.
Her latest project is just plain fun. It’s a set of three jigsaw puzzles featuring artwork from her book. Think of them as delightful conversation starters for the science she writes about.
Like the book, these puzzles combine fun, eye-catching visuals with sound scientific concepts including: our hominid ancestor “Lucy”; dinosaurs and the fossil record; and unicorns, pixies and fairies (whose existence is not supported by evidence!).
Each puzzle is 300 pieces and features the artwork of Natalie Malan.
The Kickstarter is now open for business and these would make great gifts for any young scientists you know.
