Jim Bakker: A Couple of Years Ago, It Was Illegal to say “Merry Christmas”

Remember that time a few years ago when it was illegal to say “Merry Christmas”?

No?

Check your facts, people. Because televangelist Jim Bakker totally remembers that. And that’s why he’s thanking Donald Trump for making that phrase legal once again.

I’m afraid if things keep going in the other direction, even Christmas will be outlawed. They tried to outlaw it already! You know that. In fact, the stores, a couple years ago, weren’t allowed to say “Merry Christmas.” Did you know that? I’m serious. Here in Branson. One of the greeters at one of the big stores here, she said, “Can’t say ‘Merry Christmas’ anymore. It’s against the law.”

But we complained! The people watching our show called and they contacted their stores, and other people got in on the bandwagon, and it turned around, and we can say, “Merry Christmas”!

You may not love our president, but I’ll tell you one thing: He says it! “You can say “Merry Christmas’ as long as I’m president!”

Jim Bakker and his fans saved Christmas, everyone.

On a completely unrelated note, here’s a video of Barack Obama saying “Merry Christmas” while in office. No reason. I’ll just leave it here.

Anyone know what you get a conspiracy theorist for the holidays?
