Alleged Sexual Assault Victim Escapes After Severing Penis of Christian Minister

In early August, a South Carolina woman, naked and covered in blood, knocked on doors in a neighborhood begging for help. No one would let her in, but she eventually found shelter in a Waffle House. When police finally arrived, she told them a man had sexually assaulted her and threatened to kill her. The alleged assaulter Dennis Glenn Slaton used a knife to force her to comply with his demands.

She was eventually able to escape. But not before turning his weapon against him:

During the assault, the woman severed Slaton’s penis, used the knife he threatened her with to stab him in the buttocks, and ran as he chased her through the house before escaping the home, according to the report.

Slaton (below) insists he’s the real victim in all this.

“It was pretty bad, pretty tragic, what happened to me,” he said. “… If things had not transpired as they had, I would have been found here at my house dead.”

If he’s telling the truth, that really would be tragic. If not… well, that should be one hell of a future Lifetime movie.

What makes this whole story even more disturbing is that Slaton has a history of sexual offenses and violent episodes. He’s been guilty of violent crimes since 1977, became a registered sex offender in 1989, and was convicted of attempted rape in 1990.

He’s also a minister. Because of course he is.

Slaton is apparently the head of a non-profit called “Jesus Saves Ministries.” The website looks like it was created in the 90s and never touched since then, but it includes this statement:

… The Director of Jesus Saves Ministries was himself a drunkard and drug addict for 30 plus years before he was TRANSFORMED and DELIVERED by the mighty power of Jesus Christ , and now reaches out to those who are also in bondage with this good news

It’s “good news,” delivered by a guy whose entire life is bad news…

It’s unclear what his ministry did, who it “helped,” or if he ever used it to lure victims into his arms. But the 61-year-old minister is currently out on $75,000 bond and required to remain in his home. (The Greenville News says that he violated those terms, was arrested again, and paid another bond.)

Jesus can’t save him now. A decent lawyer might help. Here’s hoping justice is served either way.
