I love that this is getting talked about. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEWS! But I’m really perplexed why it’s not making bigger waves in media circles: the Ugandan Constitutional Court ruled their Anti-Homosexuality Act “null and void” last week. This law — which was once dubbed the “Kill the Gays” bill before becoming the “Just Put Gay People in Jail for Life” bill — has been a nightmare for LGBT people in Uganda since it passed at the end of December last year. Ergun Caner is the alleged evangelical con man who pretended to be a defected ex-Muslim terrorist from Turkey and was the dean for Liberty University’s seminary until his actual past as a non-Muslim Swedish immigrant was exposed about a year ago. He continues to work as a Baptist minister and is currently the president of Brewton-Parker College in Georgia.
