Dave Daubenmire: Dr. Fauci is an “Emissary of the Devil” Sent to Hurt Christians

Following in the footsteps of other right-wing commentators, activist Dave Daubenmire is once again using his platform to spread misinformation.

This time, he’s calling Dr. Anthony Fauci an “emissary of the devil” whose mission it is to destroy Christians. And this is somehow linked to the existence of giants in the Bible whom God chose to destroy via the Great Flood (that involved Noah and his Ark.)

See? Totally logical.

“Friends, as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man,” Daubenmire bellowed. “And if Dr. Sherri Tenpenny was here, what would she tell us? That this jab is mixing and melting and working and screwing up your DNA! The same thing that was going on before the days of Noah. The exact same thing. And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be the coming of the Son of Man.

“Dr. Fauci is an emissary of the devil, folks,” Daubenmire screamed. “Not just the devil that you see on Halloween. Not just a guy who dresses up in a suit. He is an emissary of Beelzebub himself, sent to deceive and destroy the seed of Christ!”

It would be very strange for one of Satan’s minions to destroy Christianity by… trying to save the world from a deadly pandemic by offering science-based advice on masks and vaccines. But Daubenmire always finds conspiracies where none exist.

As we’ve said before, when you can’t engage thoughtfully with people with whom you disagree, it’s always easier to just demonize them. The facts speak for themselves: The COVID vaccines work. They save lives. There’s no debate about it among people who actually know what they’re talking about. (And the strained connection between modern happenings and ancient Bible stories is bad exegesis at best.)

For what it’s worth, prominent evangelicals like Franklin Graham and Robert Jeffress have encouraged followers to get the vaccine. But Daubenmire likely sees those men as connected to Satan, too.
