Evangelist: God Told Me He Would “Wipe Out” Twitter for Banning Donald Trump

Right-wing evangelist Nathan French believes that God will somehow wipe out the social media companies that banned Donald Trump from their platforms.

Because, as we all know, the 11th Commandment is “Thou shalt be able to post whatever you want on the internet without consequences.”

… French claimed that God had told him that these platforms will be wiped out because they have picked “a fight with God.”

“The Lord said this morning, he told me, ‘It’s unwise to pick a fight with a reigning champion,’” French claimed. “He said, ‘Nathan, I’m going to overturn [the election], and I’m going to reinstate Trump.’ And so I realized that not only has God chosen President Trump and Melania, but when you mess with God’s plan, then you come against God himself, and you pick a fight with God.”

“This is what the Lord said to me this morning,” French continued. “He said, ‘Big tech companies will begin to crumble if they continue to come against God’s anointed.’ When the Lord speaks through his prophets and prophetic people, it is his own words, and they will not return void. So when the flesh and the way that seems right to a man — which is like leaning on your own understanding — stands against the Lord’s words or those he’s chosen as mouthpieces, they basically pick a fight with the reigning champion, and that’s just going to bring a KO. So God’s gonna knock out, he’s gonna wipe out everything that comes against what he’s preparing to release, which is the Third Great Awakening.”

Imagine being connected to God in a way that He speaks to you personally… and the most important thing God tells you involves Trump’s Twitter account.

That suggests something else disturbing: These people really view Trump as next to God Himself. Given how little Trump has in common with Jesus Christ — except a Y chromosome? — that makes even less sense.

Facebook, Twitter, and all the other social media sites are all private platforms. They’re so integrated in our daily lives that we sometimes forget they are actually not ours; they are privately owned businesses, each with their own set of terms and conditions. Trump violated those conditions, therefore his account was terminated. When his followers are banned, it’s not because they’re persecuted. It’s because they also broke the rules.

No one has a God-given or Constitution-protected right to social media. That this argument comes from the same people who think bakeries have the right to turn away gay customers asking for the same product sold to straight customers is even more ironic.
