COVID-Denying Pastor Hosts Mass Baptism for Nearly 1,000 Maskless People

Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in California argued back in May that two months of abiding by lockdown orders was enough and churches should go back to meeting in person despite the COVID threat. Last month, he wore a combat helmet to make the case that Christians were under attack. Because he’s not a smart person.

Now, in the midst of the pandemic, his church is still conducting baptisms in the ocean.

A post on the church’s Instagram page shows hundreds of people — just under a thousand, by one estimate — gathered at Corna Del Mar State Beach for the mass baptisms, with little to no social distancing and few (if any) masks seen on camera:

In case you’re wondering if that’s simply old footage, there are (literally) a few people wearing face masks in that video. The church also confirmed everything to the Christian Broadcasting Network without even mentioning the virus:

Church Director Gina Gleason told CBN News that “California may be experiencing a spiritual revival.” She explained that the typical number of candidates for baptism is 300 but Saturday saw over three times that.

What they’re doing is undeniably stupid. It puts them and their family members and their communities at risk of catching and/or spreading COVID. They’ve been so brainwashed into thinking they’re saving their eternal souls that they don’t care about hurting people during this life.

Meanwhile, Pastor Death Cult is just leading them into danger. How many people have to die before he admits he should’ve just waited a few months before hosting an event like this?
