If we’re committed to critical thinking, then that also applies to complex political arguments that often devolve into meaningless — and sometimes misleading — sound bites.
Good thing we have John Oliver to set us straight when it comes to explaining the Republicans’ plan to replace the Affordable Care Act:
All the more reason to just rename the ACA “Trumpcare,” let the President think he’s responsible for it, and stop pretending like Republicans have any desire to actually improve upon the current system. They don’t. They never did.
They’re in trouble now, because after years of complaining about it — just for the sake of riling up their gullible voter base — they need to produce results, and the only options they’ve mentioned would make everything worse.
I just hope people remember to blame the GOP for any upcoming changes to the ACA and for undermining the original bill. They did everything in their power to make sure it didn’t work. It’s time they paid the price for it.
