I’m Off Sunday; We Can Hang Out Sunday

I laughed 🙂

On the first day, God created the heavens and the earth.

“Let there be light,” He said, and there was light. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening — the first night.

On the second day, God separated the oceans from the sky. “Let there be a horizon,” He said. And lo: a horizon appeared and God saw that it was good. And there was evening — the second night.

On the third day, God’s girlfriend came over and said that He’d been acting distant lately.

“I’m sorry,” God said. “Things have been crazy this week at work.”

He smiled at her, but she did not smile back. And God saw that it was not good.

And it just gets more entertaining from there…

    Friend of mine did one of these called God’s Kitchen. Among the references it notes that he was in breach of planning regulations (“The world was without form and void”) and that the firmament separating the waters from the waters was the shelf of his drinks cabinet.

    Ha! Made all the more amusing by the fact that the vast majority of the women I know are exactly like that. Er, I mean, I don’t know any women like that and I’m getting sick of these gender stereotypes!

    I hate to say it, as I’m usually a New Yorker fan, but although the premise was good, the joke was repetitive and ultimately fell flat.  And, yes, the gender stereotyping was a big part of that problem. 

    Maybe the editor was sick and shouldn’t have been at work?

    I hate the naggy girl friend stereotype so much. Really, honestly you know what you shouldn’t have if you think this way about women? A girl friend. If you have a girl friend who acts like this who you complain about constantly, you know what you probably shouldn’t have? A girl friend. I am so sick of hearing generalizations about my gender based on some guy whose completely voluntary relationship makes his life sooooo hard.

    Wasn’t making a statement about equality. Was making a statement about a specific behavior that annoys me because it affects me. I don’t see how generalizing a specific complaint helps anything.

    A truly entertaining troll would make an inappropriate joke about monkey vaginas.
