Juli A. Mazi, a naturopathic and homeopathic “doctor” with no actual medical qualifications was rightly arrested on Wednesday for putting her patients in danger. She was charged with faking COVID-19 vaccination cards and selling “homeopathic pellets” that she claimed would protect patients from the virus — with “lifelong immunity” — because it contained trace amounts of it.
According to court documents, in April 2021, an individual submitted a complaint to the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) hotline stating that family members purchased from Mazi COVID-19 homeoprophylaxis immunization pellets. The complainant stated that the family members had told her/him that Mazi stated that the pellets contained the COVID-19 virus and would create an antibody response in the immune system. The complainant reported that her/his family did not receive injections of any of the three FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccines. However, in connection with the delivery of the homeoprophylaxis immunization pellets, Mazi sent COVID-19 Vaccination Record cards, with Moderna listed, to the complainant family. Mazi allegedly instructed the complainant family to mark the cards to falsely state that they received the Moderna vaccine on the date that they ingested the COVID-19 homeoprophylaxis immunization pellets.
Just a complete moral monster who allowed her patients to think they were safe when they weren’t and arguably allowed the virus to spread to other people by trying to cheat the system in the midst of a pandemic.
As Paul Fidalgo notes in the Morning Heresy, Mazi also has a “Kentucky Fried Chicken approach to medicine”:
Articles on Mazi’s website promote how “herbs and spices” can be used to help treat liver ailments. The website presents her as a primary care provider who treats conditions from ear infections to ADHD to autoimmune disorders.
You can read the full Department of Justice complaint here — and it’s a doozy. It includes the transcript of a phone call made to her office where she literally walked someone through her crimes.
Mazi is not a doctor. She’s not a primary care provider. She’s a professional liar who has the backing of a shitty system that allows naturopaths to cosplay as people who know what they’re doing. However, she made the mistake of pulling a Jim Bakker and promoting a fake “cure” — and that was enough to get charged with wire fraud and “false statements related to health care matters.”
