Televangelist Jim Bakker, last seen pretending his imprisonment for fraud was the result of “cancel culture,” has a new grift.
He’s now handing out cards to his most loyal supporters designating them as “credentialed missionaries.” All they have to do is purchase 13 books — for $215 — all about how to overcome Satan-fueled “darkness in your daily life.”
Have you always wanted to be a "credentialed missionary" for Jim Bakker's ministry? Well, simply buy a "Bakker's Dozen" of the books he sells and he'll send you a card designating you as such. pic.twitter.com/5QepJp2Fq0

… Is there some way that you could print up a card of some sort that, when people ordered the Bakker’s Dozens from now on, that they become a missionary of this ministry?… And that they are credentialed missionaries of this ministry…? Because here’s the thing: If we can get people to pass out the Bakker’s Dozens from time to time, that’s 12 people they’ve affected… Think of it!… And I’ll sign the card!…
If you’re gullible enough to get excited by a wallet-sized receipt after you’ve purchased overpriced books, then knock yourself out.
I guess it could be worse. At least Bakker isn’t selling a supposed “cure” for venereal disease or COVID.
