COVID Patient Killed By Hospital Roommate Who Was Angered by His Prayers

People who have tested positive for COVID will cope with it in any number of ways. If you’re in the hospital, then prayer, no doubt, is helpful many. There’s nothing wrong with that if it helps them cope. Hope is in short supply these days, so let them have it.

But for reasons that no one can explain yet, a 37-year-old man named Jesse Martinez, who was in a California hospital room, allegedly murdered his 82-year-old roommate after he began praying. It’s a horrific story that makes no sense.

The suspect became upset when the victim started to pray. He then struck the victim with an oxygen tank.

The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on December 18, 2020 at approximately 10:20 a.m. The victim and suspect did not know each other.

The suspect, 37 year-old Jesse Martinez, was arrested and charged with murder, a hate crime enhancement and elder abuse. His bail is set at $1,000,000. He is set to appear in Antelope Valley Court December 28, 2020.

It’s unbearable to think an elderly man, who wasn’t bothering anyone in his hospital room, died from an attack and not the virus that brought him to the hospital.

There’s no indication that Martinez was an atheist, or if he was on any medications that might have led to his actions, or why he didn’t just ask to be transferred to another room. Here’s hoping justice is served.
