Here’s an interesting thought experiment for atheists who were raised with religion: If you could do it, what would you say to your past religious self? What messages would you relay to someone who once held sincere beliefs about God, sin, and salvation?
Interestingly enough, none of those “letters” talk about what led him to become an atheist. It’s not like he’s going back in time and urging his younger self to read a certain book that would facilitate de-conversion earlier. The messages are more about not feeling so damn guilty about everything. It’s okay to be yourself. It’s okay to challenge authority.
What would you say?
