A Gay Porn Star, and Maybe Escorts Too, Are Trying to Out Senate Homophobe “LG”

Is it all just a desperate plea for clicks and followers? Or is there something to the eye-popping tweet by a gay porn performer that he’s getting ready to out “a homophobic Republican senator”?

On Thursday night, one Sean Harding asked for a bit of courage and support from his fellow sex workers:

There is a homophobic republican senator who is no better than Trump who keeps passing legislation that is damaging to the lgbt and minority communities. Every sex worker I know has been hired by this man. Wondering if enough of us spoke out if that could get him out of office?

In a follow-up tweet, Harding added,

I cannot do this alone. If you’d be willing to stand with me against LG please let me know.

Later, he referred to the senator as LG. Only one man in the Senate has those initials: Lindsey Graham.

Harding has since claimed that two other sex workers have joined him in planning the outing of the Senator in question. Why the delay? I’ve seen suggestions that the three are first obtaining legal advice to get around the non-disclosure agreements they supposedly signed before frolicking with Graham.

I’m skeptical about it all, but intrigued.

Corey Andrew at Instinct Magazine (link NSFW) says that the story has been growing,

… with hundreds of Harding’s followers tagging Pulitzer prize-winning writer Ronan Farrow to take on the story. Farrow has recently come under some credibility scrutiny from the New York Times, that raised questions about his investigative tactics. Still, undeniably his career-defining journalism skills in exposing sex scandals could make him a living nightmare for “LG” … just ask Harvey Weinstein.

Rumors (not always tasteful) about Graham’s sexuality have followed him for years. When a New York Times reporter indirectly asked the Senator about the issue, back in 2010, Graham denied flat-out he’s gay:

“I know it’s really gonna upset a lot of gay men — I’m sure hundreds of ’em are gonna be jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge — but I ain’t available. I ain’t gay. Sorry.”

He issued a similar but less good-natured denial when comedienne Chelsea Handler needled him about the matter two years ago.

What of Thursday’s Harding tweet? Fitsnews, which has been covering Graham for years, claims that this time,

Lots of national reporters are clearly chasing it (including several who have called our news desk); and the chatter about numerous male escorts contemplating the consequences of violating alleged nondisclosure agreements seems curiously (disturbingly) specific.

Few decent people could care about who Lindsey Graham likes to have a little recreational fun with, and it’s no one’s job to out a gay person if he or she wishes to keep that subject private. The exception: moral frauds like Larry CraigTed Haggard, and George Rekers — influential people who are in the public eye, and who enjoy their secret same-sex romps while discriminating against LGBT people with legislation or revilement.

Graham’s personal opinions about gay relationships aren’t as uniformly awful as you might expect from a southern GOP politician, but when it matters, on the Senate floor, he is an unabashed enemy of LGBT rights. Graham voted for the anti-gay federal Defense of Marriage Act; just as he supported the Constitutional Amendment to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman; just as he sought to exclude gay couples in Washington D.C. from adopting children.

If it emerges that Lindsey Graham likes the company of gay porn stars and rent boys, it’ll just be one more example of the hypocrisy that Donald Trump‘s Republican Party has elevated almost to an art form.
