Ken and Tamara Williams seem like nice people who have their heart in the right place. The couple, who run a bakery in Raleigh, North Carolina, were gushing to everyone who would listen how much they appreciate the great work of doctors and nurses during this national health emergency.
Then inspiration hit.
“We actually were coming back from the Blood Connection giving blood,” Ken Williams said. “And…I was thinking about God because without the Blood Connections and places like that, I wouldn’t have good health as I have today, because I had to have donors for blood and ligaments for surgery that I had in the past. And, we started talking about how hard the doctors and nurses are working right now in the fight of COVID-19. And we just kept talking [and] I’m saying, ‘God over COVID,’” Ken said.
“I just looked at him and I said, ‘Wait a minute, we can put that on a shirt and sell it to raise some money for the doctors and nurses.’ And, we went home and we worked on it,” said Tamara.
So close. To thank doctors, nurses, and medical donors, why not cut out the middleman and print shirts thanking doctors, nurses, and medical donors?
There’s a good chance that, even in North Carolina, medical personnel isn’t uniformly religious. Non-believer nurses and doctors may have to work at putting on a smile when the Williamses come present them with their free T-shirt.
