Christian Preacher: God is Using COVID-19 to Warn America Against Fornication

Televangelist Jim Bakker is no longer selling Silver Solution, but he’s still promoting harmful nonsense. Yesterday, he brought on End Times preacher Irvin Baxter, last seen claiming the critics of Donald Trump were guided by Satan, to talk about what’s causing the COVID-19 pandemic.

His answer? Fornication among unmarried couples.

7.5 million couples. That means 15 million people, that are living together unmarried. And that’s increased over the last 10 years by 138%. Now, in addition to that — I hope this research is not correct, but I got it straight from the encyclopedia — it says that 5% of new brides in America now are virgins. That means 95% have already committed fornication!

Now, God says… “Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. No fornicator, no adulterer, nor effeminate, nor abuser of themselves of mankind, nor extortioner, nor drunkard. None of these shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

If we think we can just ignore God and live a sinful lifestyle, well, we cannot do it. You know, I believe in what you’re saying, that God may be using this as a wake-up call. This coronavirus may be a privilege, because I’ll tell you right now, there’s a much bigger judgment coming.

It’s in the Bible.

Baxter seems to think sex outside of marriage didn’t exist until a few months ago.

And if God is using COVID-19 as a “wake-up call,” He needs better aim. It’s the states run by conservative governors — Bible Belt states included — that stand to suffer the most by having the least stringent self-quarantining policies.

It’s not like punishing us is working anyway. When you’re living in “sin” and unable to go outside, what exactly does God think people are doing…?
