Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is not at all happy with the proposed Alabama bill that would require men to have vasectomies either after their third child or at age 50, whichever comes first.
Yikes. A government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take everything…literally! Alabama Democrat proposes bill mandating all men have vasectomy at age 50 or after third child. https://t.co/PeaNUg1Joc

The bill, proposed by State Rep. Rolanda Hollis, is a response to the GOP encroaching on women’s healthcare. Turns out men don’t like it very much when the shoe is on the other foot.
Twitter users were quick to remind Cruz of his obvious hypocrisy:
Yes, the government shouldn’t be involved in private reproductive health choices, yes, that’s a great point you made, yes.

Yes. Governments have no business controlling the reproductive systems of citizens. Glad you've finally come around on choice, Senator.
Also, congrats on an epic self-own.

Oh you don’t like big government trying to regulate your body????
— Irishrygirl (@irishrygirl) February 16, 2020
Thought you wanted to stop unwanted pregnancies.

Whether any of this will ever get through to Cruz is doubtful. His reputation is built on being unable to listen to reason or use common sense. But Republicans deserve to be called out anytime they want to regulate women’s bodies, especially when they balk at legislation that would do the same to men.
