During the House proceedings prior to an impeachment vote, Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia suggested that Donald Trump is being treated worse than Jesus — who, I need to remind you, was tortured to death.
Trump is getting a well-deserved punishment for the crimes he open admitted to.
“When Jesus was falsely accused of Treason, Pontius Pilate gave Jesus the opportunity to face his accusers,” Loudermilk said from the House floor. “During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than Democrats have afforded this president in this process.”
A reminder that Republicans had the opportunity to present witnesses in defense of Trump, including the man himself, but they chose not to because Trump can’t get through a sentence without perjuring himself.
The two men are totally different anyway. One turned water into wine. The other just whines.
Normally, conservative Christians would be irate about someone inadvertently downplaying what Jesus went through, but Trump is their new savior, so it’s hardly a problem.
