Back in October, we heard about a disturbing case involving Deputy Daniel Wilkey of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee.

According to one lawsuit against him, Wilkey pulled over a woman (for reasons that were unclear), touched her all over her body, asked the woman if she was “saved,” then stripped nearly naked in order to baptize her in a local lake. She complied because she feared the alternative.
It turns out that’s not the only lawsuit against Wilkey. They aren’t the only examples of his bad behavior, either. In fact, a grand jury just indicted him on dozens of charges, including rape, sexual battery, and stalking:
Here’s a full list of his charges, from an online booking report:
- Two counts of rape
- Six counts of sexual battery
- Four counts of assault
- Four counts of stalking
- Three counts of false imprisonment
- 10 counts of official oppression
- Extortion
- Seven counts of reckless endangerment
- 10 counts of reckless driving
Christ… even Jesus can’t save him now. (Somehow, inappropriate religious conversion didn’t make the list.)
How this man ever got his job is anyone’s guess, but the streets are safer without him around. His next court date is January 14. The lawsuits will continue in the meantime.
