Kesha is a Wealthy Televangelist With a Secret Life in Her “Raising Hell” Video

A couple of years ago, singer Kesha released a song called “Praying” that included all kinds of religious imagery without suggesting she believed in any of it.

Her latest song, released yesterday, is a much more direct attack against a certain kind of Christianity.

In the video for “Raising Hell,” Kesha plays a Tammy Faye Bakker-like faith-healing wealthy televangelist with a party-loving congregation. She preaches one thing but has a very, very different private life. (Sex. Murder. Seedy hotel.)

Oh. And her God-loving husband is also secretly abusive.

Even the lyrics are delightfully blasphemous:

I’m all fucked up in my Sunday best
No walk of shame ’cause I love this dress
Only God can judge this holy mess
Bitch, I’m blessed
