Michele Bachmann: Climate Change is a Hoax; “God Says We Will Never Be Flooded”

During an appearance on Jan Markell’s “Understanding The Times” radio show over the weekend, former Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann rejected the threat of climate change because she insisted God would never do that to us.

Okay, so He did it to Noah… but NO MORE.

“I would encourage pastors to start preaching on this issue of climate change and God’s view of climate change,” Bachmann said. “The very covenant was established by God and Noah. And that covenant was that sin was so gross in the world that God had to bring about judgment, and then he had to bring about salvation, and from there came Abraham. God put a rainbow in the sky as a sign of his covenant and he said very clearly to the entire world, ‘Never again will there be judgment, never again will the world be flooded.’”

“You can take it to the bank, that’s God’s word,” she added. “And what is it these frauds tells us with climate change? That the world’s going to be flooded. Isn’t it interesting they’re saying it’s going to be another catastrophe, it’s flooding, we’re going to be flooded? God says we will never be flooded.”

Much of south Florida will have something to say about this within a century…

It goes without saying that Bachmann is wrong. Her ignorance isn’t new; it’s exactly what she was known for throughout her time in elected office and beyond. Even more recently, she’s claimed Donald Trump is the “most biblical president” she’s ever seen and that literally “every archeology find” has proven the “authenticity” of the Bible. Saying verifiably untrue things is why Republicans voted for her.

But in this case, by the time Bachmann herself sees the sea levels rising, it’ll be too late for us to do anything about it. All we can do is stop electing conservative Christians like her who put their faith in a warped version of God’s Word instead of the evidence experts pile up right in front of them.
