Dave Ramsey, best known for his faith-based financial advice (that includes wildly misunderstanding poverty), posted this bizarre mathematical affirmation yesterday.
The more you look at it, the less it makes sense.
Focused intensity over time, multiplied by God, equals unstoppable momentum.
First of all, multiplying by zero doesn’t get you anything…
Also, according to this equation, the more time you spend on something, the less momentum you have. So if you really want momentum in some area, your best bet is to ignore it altogether. (Apparently quitting something is the most successful strategy!)
And if momentum is fixed, then increasing your focused intensity would actually diminish the power of God.
The thing about affirmations is that if they look right, some people will just believe they’re inspirational.
Moral of the story: Never trust a guy who can’t do basic math to give you advice about money.
