Pat Robertson Tells Man To Save Wife from Lesbian Friend Before She’s “Captured”

On today’s episode of The 700 Club, Pat Robertson received a question from a man whose wife had made a new friend online… who happens to be a gay woman.

That’s it. That’s the “problem.” It’s not that the gay woman was flirting with his wife. It’s not that the wife showed any romantic interest in the stranger. It’s that she has a new gay friend, full stop. The man, who noted that the wife is spending more time talking to the friend online than she does in church, said he “worried that this gay woman might be taking my wife away from me, and that her faith in Jesus is fading away.”

A normal person would say: That’s now how “Gay” works. Now shut your mouth and just celebrate your wife’s new friendship. If she’s not going to church as much, maybe the church is the problem.

Robertson, of course, went in a different direction.

… That’s a serious thing, and what are you gonna do? You gonna tell her she can’t do it? Then she’ll rebel. She’s being captured, you know? That’s what it is, it’s a capture. And you need to deliver her from that, but… I think she needs help. You say, well, what would you do? That’s a tough one…

At this point, Robertson’s co-host made a sensible suggestion: Talk to your wife about it. (Obviously.)

But then Robertson kept talking…

… Perhaps you can find a woman in the church, who’s a Christian, who is solid, who would talk to your wife about this, because this is an infatuation. And when it’s all over, she’s got to come back to you, because she’ll be left with nothing, and I think she needs to face where she’s going, you know? If she continues in this so-called relationship, she will throw away everything she’s got, and when it’s all over with, she won’t have anything.

Moral of the story: If you have a gay friend, you’re going to burn in Hell for all of eternity. And before that, you’re going to ruin your life.

The love of Jesus shines through once again.
