Here’s the Trailer for Hail Satan?, a Film About The Satanic Temple

How seriously should people take The Satanic Temple? And where the hell did they come from, anyway? Those are among the questions explored in the new film Hail Satan?, which premiered last month at the Sundance Film Festival.

The movie will hit select theaters April 19, and the trailed just dropped:

As the description notes:

… When media-savvy members of the Satanic Temple organize a series of public actions designed to advocate for religious freedom and challenge corrupt authority, they prove that with little more than a clever idea, a mischievous sense of humor, and a few rebellious friends, you can speak truth to power in some truly profound ways. As charming and funny as it is thought-provoking, Hail Satan? offers a timely look at a group of often misunderstood outsiders whose unwavering commitment to social and political justice has empowered thousands of people around the world.

With approximately 50,000 followers in just a few years, that description isn’t unwarranted. They’ve accomplished a lot using the simple premise that freedom of religion, applied to an unpopular group, can make a lot of conservative Christians rethink their attempts to promote faith through the government.
