Pastor Robert Jeffress: “If Walls Are Immoral, Then God is Immoral”

Pastor Robert Jeffress, one of Donald Trump‘s most vocal white evangelical supporters, said on FOX News Channel yesterday that there’s nothing immoral about a border wall. Furthermore, if you oppose it, then you’re really saying that God is immoral.

… The Bible says even Heaven itself is gonna have a wall around it. Not everybody is going to be allowed in. So if walls are immoral, then God is immoral. There’s nothing immoral about a wall, but what is immoral is for Democrats, for political reasons, to block this president from fulfilling his God-given responsibility to keep our country safe.

Donald Trump actually said Mexico would pay for the wall, and there are better ways of keeping us safe… but why even bother trying to talk sense into someone whose career depends on him never understanding reality?

Plenty of other Christian leaders have said, far more sensibly, that following Jesus means taking in refugees seeking asylum, not shutting them out just because this president has to throw a bone to his base.
