Over the weekend, Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman Byler were married in Texas. They departed their wedding in style, in a helicopter. Then, just minutes after taking off, the helicopter crashed, killing the newlyweds and the pilot.
My heart goes out to the family and friends. As with any tragedy like this, everyone grieves in their own way.
But there was one reaction that took things way too far…

“How awesome to spend your honeymoon with Jesus”???
Yeah, let’s celebrate, I guess…?
It’s one thing to point to Jesus to provide comfort. It’s another to treat a tragedy like a celebration because you think they’re in a better place. This is just plain disrespectful to everyone who knew them, religious or not.
