Conservative activist and former state legislator Gordon Klingenschmitt said on his “Pray In Jesus Name” program recently that critics of Donald Trump were in need of a good exorcism. Because if you’re concerned about what he’s doing to the country, or anxious about the Russia investigation, you clearly suffer from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and the only cure is to get rid of the demons who control you.
“I’m sure those who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome look at the president and say, ‘He must be demonized because he makes me feel so anxious inside,’” Klingenschmitt explained. “But, again, these are people who are deranged, so are they properly discerning the evil spirit inside of President Trump? No. Because of their derangement, because of the demons inside them, they project their anxiety on to someone else who might be causing their anxiety. But it’s not inside the president — if anything, he might be influenced by the spirit of God sometimes — the demon is inside of those who welcome this fear and this anxiety.”
“So if God didn’t give you a spirit of fear and anxiety and derangement, but you’re feeling this spirit of fear and anxiety and derangement inside of you, is that coming from God?” he asked. “No, it’s coming from the devil and the demonic spirit of fear inside of these people who have Trump Derangement Syndrome may require an exorcism.”
It’s incredible how the people who understand history and facts are deemed the crazy ones while those who think Trump is amazing and believe in literal demons are the ones in power.
As someone who despises this administration, let me freely admit I don’t think Trump is possessed. He’s doing exactly what his critics thought he would do: screwing everything up when he’s not avoiding work entirely. The Devil shouldn’t get credit for that. Trump a modern conservative, just one who happens to say the quiet stuff out loud when it comes to racism and women.
The problem isn’t one guy. It’s also the people like Klingenschmitt who welcome him as the leader of their party.
