I understand the sentiment behind this postcard, but I can’t imagine what the hell it actually means.

When you’re facing tragedy all the time, your emotions are bound to get the best of you. You want to do something to help the patients. But if you’re an atheist, resorting to prayer makes no sense at all. I could understand wanting to believe in God in that situation. I could understand thinking of the patients. In this case, though, I just want to know who the person is praying to. Without that answer, I have to believe the very top line on here isn’t true.
What do you think? Am I guilty of pulling a No True Scotsman here, or could an atheist actually pray in tough times?
