Two Atheist YouTubers Discuss Whether Religion, True or Not, Is Useful in Society

Two of my favorite atheist YouTubers worked together to produce a pair of videos discussing whether religion is useful in society. Atheists will say it’s not true, of course, but even some atheists might make the case that religion serves a purpose like making people more charitable or social or moral.

Alex J. O’Connor (CosmicSkeptic) and Drew McCoy (Genetically Modified Skeptic) say that’s not the case at all.

While a debate might have been more entertaining, you can hardly blame them for taking the same side of this issue. It’s nice to just hear two smart YouTubers working together to offer their own takes on the same topic. No arguing. No drama. No going over everyone’s heads.

Just some straightforward simple arguments for why they believe they’re right.

Enjoy these videos.
