***Update***: The Associated Press reports that the killings were not related to terrorism, but rather about race.
A man who investigators say goes by the nickname “Black Jesus” was arrested today after fatally shooting at least three people at separate locations, including a Catholic Charities facility. Police say the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar” (Arabic for “God is great”) during the attack.
Kori Ali Muhammad, who posted mostly about black pride on his Facebook profile, was already wanted in connection with the shooting death of a security guard.
While police say Muhammad uses “Black Jesus” as an alias, it seems clear that he’s not a Christian. The suspect shared a post saying Jesus is “made up” less than 24 hours ago…
… and another graphic post about “how African Americans became Christians” just moments before that.
Some of Muhammad’s Facebook posts seem to foreshadow today’s events. Less than a day ago, he posted “MY KILL RATE INCREASES TREMENDOUSLY ON THE OTHER SIDE … ALLAH U AKBAR.”
Muhammad’s profile further reveals he was born in Fresno, California and grew up in Sacramento. He also spent time in Atlanta. Muhammad, who also calls himself “Macc Sun,” says he’s the CEO of M$O Mastermind.
Here is his bio:
Like to make people laugh, make money, spend time with family and apprceciate all that life blesses me with. Enjoy constructive thinking, meditating, working out and accomplishing goals.
All that is clear right now is that this man, who was not a Christian and had a lot to say about the dangers of the white man, murdered several people in cold blood. Regardless of his motives, this type of behavior is completely unacceptable.
This is a developing story, so there will undoubtedly, be new (and perhaps conflicting) information coming out soon. We will update you as we learn more.
