Five years after his death, the loss of Christopher Hitchens is still felt by many atheists.
In a time when Republican candidates will say damn near anything to get support from the Religious Right, when fundamentalist Islam is creating havoc on an international scale, and when critical thinking is severely underrated, Hitchens’ take-no-prisoners approach to religion that seemed so radical at one time is sorely missed today.
If you never read his books, do yourself a favor this month and check out God is Not Great or The Missionary Position. You don’t have to agree with all of his positions to appreciate his passion and talent.
