At Hilliard Middle-Senior High School in Florida, there was a sign outside the building that had the words “In God We Trust” on it. We can argue over whether that should have been there at all, but the story here is that someone used black spray paint over those words, vandalizing the board:
Administrators have no clue as to who did it or what that person’s motivations were, but I think it’s safe to speak for a lot of atheists when I condemn the vandalism unequivocally. You don’t have to support the phrase or the school’s promotion of religion to speak out against someone destroying school property to make a point.
