After days of asking her parents about the truth of Santa’s existence, a 10-year-old Maryland girl named Belle got the answer she was looking for… but it was the one she hoped wasn’t true.
Her response? A scathing letter ending in a sassy cyber salute delivered under her parents’ door.
You have no idea what you just did. I really tried to belive. Everyone told me its your parents. I can’t belive you anymore. is the easter bunny real, how bout the tooth fairy, huh? you just ruiend a 10 year old’s childs LIFE thanks.
Nothing will make me feel better u lied to me about something I loved that BROKE my heart. [Image of broken heart]
Belle’s mother, Nicki Adams, was amused and posted the story on her Facebook page where the image was shared over 17,000 times before she changed her privacy settings, making the post no longer visible.
The time has finally come. Belle asked point blank about Santa and she’s been asking every day. So we were truthful and she may never speak to us again…… especially when we lost our ever loving shit at the pictures on the right that she slid under the door to us….. #dontlaugh
We in the atheist community concur with Belle. It sucks to find out you’ve been deceived about the existence of someone you know and love but have never actually seen.
As for the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy, I sense Belle is Internet-savvy enough to find the answers she’s looking for.
