A letter in which Charles Darwin explained how he didn’t believe in the Christian God has sold at auction for £127,000 ($195,000), between two and three times more than original estimates.

In the letter, Darwin responded to a question from barrister Francis McDermott by saying, “I do not believe in the Bible as a divine revelation and therefore not in Jesus Christ as the son of God.”
No word yet on who made the purchase.
